Research Portal uses Smart Web App data to curate content

Esparter’s analytics tease out new market trends.

Problem:

An existing research portal usage platform was barely being used. This was mainly because the stakeholders and product managers had to query quite basic historic data and try and guess on any insights they had a hunch on.

Solution:

Esparter re-instrumented the Web App to log key user activity and upgraded the data architecture to support the new data being captured.  This allowed new tools to constantly query and analyse the service activity, test correlations and output potentially key insights to the service stakeholders.

By exposing the user journeys on the App and automating the dissection of user searches it was possible to take what users were looking for to spot new market trends and gaps in the content that analysts could subsequently provide new publications to cover.
